Creative with E-Board

Authored on 20/04/2015
E-Board is open to creativity in relief, with brickwork bonds, corbelling, ... with or without joints. The new-build project in Genk designed by architect Sabine Palumbo is a fine example of this.
Relief in brick
Sabine Palumbo is the in-house architect of housing association Marchetta. She has combined a wild bond with a relief appearance. A wild bond says it all: you cannot detect a pattern. Also, different lengths of brick were used. The special feature of this project is the joint-free wild bond combined with the differences in thickness between the brick slips. This emphasises the ‘wild’ character of the brickwork and the natural appearance of the brick.
