Vandersanden joins the 2012 Olympic Games

At the moment there are just 180 days to go before the start of the London Summer Olympics. The preparations for the games have been under way for some time now. The construction of stadiums and sports centres has reached fever pitch. The structures for the games are probably one of the world's most ambitious construction projects. Many companies worldwide are supplying goods for the Games. The contracts for the Olympic Games are coveted. Apart from the fact that this frequently involves large orders, supplying to the mythical Games also involves a huge amount of prestige. This is why companies worldwide unite to acquire the best contracts. By supplying to the Olympics you are demonstrating that your product can be delivered quickly, but above all that your product meets the high standards that the organizers of the Games require.

Distributor Aquarian Cladding managed to close a contract for the supply of 700 square metres of E-Bricks for what will be the largest sports centre in the United Kingdom and the second largest in Europe. This innovative product by Vandersanden and Isosystems, commercialized in Britain under the trademark GEBRIK, was the best product to meet the aesthetic, quality, planning and budget criteria. On top of that, the delivery of E-Brick will be followed by the supply of facing bricks for an annex. The new hall, Mayesbrook Park Arena, will be used as a training centre for the Olympic Games and is expected to be ready in February 2012. It is the official training site for handball and wheelchair rugby at the Olympics. It will be the largest sports centre in the UK and the second largest in Europe. After the games, the sports centre will be used for handball, athletics, rugby and Paralympic judo.

Vandersanden is very proud to be part of this adventure. An additional benefit is that thanks to an innovative product, derived from our core product, we have been hugely successful at home and abroad. The fact that this product has allowed us to contribute to the Olympics, is obviously a great honour. E-Brick scored best with regard to the high standards set by architects, which shows that in terms of aesthetics, quality, planning and budgeting criteria we are in the top league worldwide. And now in the Olympic league tables as well.

All we can hope for is that the success of our product spurs on the many hundreds of athletes!
